Raison d’Être: Our Mandate
The Governor’s Veterans Advisory Council (GVAC) serves as a vital conduit between those who serve and those who lead. Our core mission is to ensure that the unique needs, challenges, and perspectives of Vermont’s veterans and their families are heard at the highest levels of state government. By fostering a direct line of communication with the Governor, we work to refine state policy, enhance service delivery, and advocate for the well-being of all who have worn the uniform.

Good Government
We promote good government by ensuring veterans’ voices are heard in policymaking, fostering transparency, and strengthening collaboration between veterans and public institutions across Vermont.
Education
We advocate for educational access and advancement for Vermont’s veterans, ensuring they have the resources, support, and opportunities to succeed in academic and vocational pursuits.
